Choosing between the Dura Cover Adventure Edition and the Dura Cover Urban Edition comes down to one question: do you want MOLLE panels for gear, or sliding windows for light and airflow? Both are clamp-on aluminum truck caps made from marine-grade 5052 aluminum, both install without drilling or caulking, and both have a T-slot roof system for crossbars and accessories. This guide answers the questions we hear most from Canadian truck owners: which edition is right for you, whether it fits your truck, how much weight the roof can carry, and which truck cap accessories are worth adding. Prices are in CAD as listed at Union Overland in October 2026.

How Much Does a Truck Cap Cost in Canada?
Dura Cover Adventure Edition truck caps start at $3,499 and Urban Edition caps start at $3,699. The final price depends on your truck and bed length. Short-bed compact and mid-size trucks sit at the low end, and long-bed and heavy-duty trucks sit at the high end, up to $3,999 for the Ford Super Duty Adventure Edition and several Urban Edition long-bed fitments.

Can You Put a Rooftop Tent on a Truck Cap?
The Dura Cover Adventure Edition is built with T-slot roof tracks for crossbars, a rooftop tent or other accessories. The roof is rated for 700 lbs static and 350 lbs dynamic. Dynamic is the number that matters while you're driving. Rocky Mountain rooftop tents weigh 115 to 172 lbs, so a tent can fit within that rating, but the crossbars and any gear you add to the roof count against it too. Before you buy, ask us to confirm the combination you have in mind, and browse our rooftop tents.
How Much Weight Can a Truck Cap Roof Hold?
Both editions are rated for up to 700 lbs static (parked) and 350 lbs dynamic (driving). The cap's total rating is the limit, even if the crossbars themselves are rated higher. Add up the crossbars, any rack or box, and everything you strap on top, and keep the total under 350 lbs when you're moving.
Do I Need to Drill or Caulk to Install a Dura Cover Truck Cap?
No. Both editions use a clamp-on mounting system with no drilling, and the upgraded sealing system means no caulking is required. Assembly and installation take about 40 minutes, and step-by-step instructions are included.
Are Dura Cover Truck Caps Built for Canadian Winters?
The cap is made from heavy-duty 5052 marine-grade aluminum with a powder-coated finish treated to resist fading and corrosion from winter road salt. It's designed to handle road debris, rough roads and changing weather. For winter use, the lock covers below help keep ice out of the locks.
