The Canadian Corrosion Problem

If you've driven Canadian roads in winter, you know what road salt does to metal. It's relentless. A rack made from mild steel with a basic powder coat will start showing rust within a season or two — and once corrosion starts, it doesn't stop.

Our racks are built from 304 stainless steel sideplates paired with T3 aluminum crossbars. Stainless steel is inherently corrosion-resistant — not just coated to resist it. Whether you're dealing with winter road salt on the Trans-Canada, coastal moisture on Vancouver Island, or river crossings in the Chilcotin, the frame won't rust. Ever.

The aluminum crossbars are anodized for the same reason: lasting protection without adding unnecessary weight.

Load Ratings That Actually Mean Something

Canadian overlanding means carrying real gear — rooftop tents, recovery boards, jerry cans, lighting, and more. You need a rack that can handle the load, not just look the part.

Depending on your vehicle, our racks are rated for:

  • Up to 600 lbs (272 kg) dynamic and 1,000 lbs (450 kg) static — for full-size platforms like the Lexus GX550 and Toyota 4Runner
  • 400 lbs (180 kg) dynamic and 800 lbs (360 kg) static — for mid-size trucks like the Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado
  • 300 lbs (135 kg) dynamic and 800 lbs (360 kg) static — for the Ford Bronco

Dynamic rating is what matters when you're moving — that's the number that counts on a washboard forest service road.

Vehicle-Specific Fit, Not Universal Compromise

  • 1996–2002 Toyota 4Runner (3rd Gen) — 90" full-length platform, adjustable crossbar positions

Built-In Functionality From Day One

Every rack includes a built-in deflector with utility hooks and light bar support — so you're not bolting on aftermarket accessories just to get basic functionality. The deflector manages airflow at highway speeds, the utility hooks give you tie-down points, and the light bar mount means your aux lighting has a proper home.

Crossbars sit flush with the top of the rack on most models, giving you a flat, usable platform for rooftop tents, gear bags, and cargo systems.
